Providers who wish to ensure that they are implementing Project ImPACT with fidelity should become certified in the program. Certification involves six months of individual or group consultation while using the program with families. In addition, providers must meet fidelity of implementation through submission of training materials and videos of themselves demonstrating key components of the program. Certified Project ImPACT coaches can train and support other professionals within their practice setting in Project ImPACT. Certified coaches who wish to offer introductory training workshops and/or train others to certification can complete additional training to become a certified trainer consultant.
Certification in Project ImPACT involves the following steps:
Step 1: Read the manuals
Step 2: Complete the Online Tutorial
Step 3: Attend the Introductory Training Workshop
Step 4: Receive six months of consultation
Step 5: Meet fidelity of implementation
Individual Certification Option
Certification involves six one-hour consultation meetings with an ImPACT trainer via phone or videoconferencing. The provider must submit training materials and videos of themselves implementing key components of the Project ImPACT curriculum for review prior to each consultation meeting. Most providers are able to achieve fidelity in the intervention and parent coaching model after these sessions. The cost of individual consultation is $3000 for six consultation meetings and video review for fidelity. If the provider does not achieve fidelity, they may submit additional video for review and consultation at $250 per video until fidelity is achieved.
Group Certification Option
Groups of three to five providers participate in one-hour group consultation meetings twice a month to assist them in their implementation of Project ImPACT for six months. Group consultation meetings are conducted via videoconferencing and involve feedback on case presentations, video review, problem-solving around difficult cases, peer supervision strategies, and group discussion of implementation issues. Providers receiving group consultation must also submit three videos of themselves implementing key components of the Project ImPACT curriculum to be scored for fidelity of implementation. The cost of group supervision is $2000 per provider for the group consultation meetings and video review for fidelity. If the provider does not achieve fidelity, they may submit additional video for review at $250 per video until fidelity is achieved.
Organizational leaders who wish to scale up the use Project ImPACT within their organization may benefit from assistance in planning and implementing Project ImPACT from a trained Project ImPACT consultant. Team meetings can be conducted prior to or following the provider certification process and could address planning for sustainability; identifying and coordinating the intervention team; identifying and onboarding families; determining program logistics; addressing family barriers to participation; and determining adaptions that can be made to meet the needs of the organization while still maintaining fidelity. The cost of implementation planning is $250 per hour.
